Home SPA for hands and feet – Benefits

Home hand and foot care is connected with many benefits. It’s not only about the aesthetics, but also about health. If skin, nails and cuticles are taken care of regularly, they appearance is flawless as the damages, dehydration and skin breaks are prevented.

Foot SPA

1. Foot bath

Before you put the feet into a bath, remove nail polish, file the nails and cut the cuticles. Then, pour warm water to a plastic basin, add oil, salt or herbal extracts. The bath shouldn’t take longer than 15 minutes. Due to used ingredients, we distinguish the following types of foot baths:

  • with salt – it softens skin and displays medicinal, refreshing and relaxing properties;
  • with baking powder – softens thick heel skin, disinfects and helps to deal with excessive perspiration;
  • herbal – slows down excessive perspiration, brings relief, soothes joint and muscle pain as well as deals with skin irritation;
  • nourishing – delivers antibacterial action, moisturises, supplies skin with many precious substances;
  • refreshing – when mixed with lemon, this type of foot bath highlights skin and discolourations on nails, moisturises and offers relief to tired feet;
  • moisturising – it contains substances preventing skin dehydration, heel cracking and leaves nails with natural shine.

2. Foot peel

In order to remove thick skin from feet, prepare either salt or sugar peel. Mix one of the abrasive agents with yoghurt, a few drops of essential oil, honey or spicy seasoning. Combine the ingredients thoroughly and rub into your feet. Thanks to foot peel, your skin will be smooth, softened and ready for further treatments. The residues of your DIY foot peel has to be rinsed off. Then, follow with a moisturising cream and put on cotton socks.

Hand SPA

1. Hand bath

Use warm water with a lemon, linseed or milk. The first product is supposed to highlight skin and nail discolourations, the other two are expected to provide hands with moisturisation and protection from dehydration. The bath shouldn’t take longer than 15 minutes. Basically, hands should be well-prepared for the upcoming beauty treatments.

Removing dead epidermal cells and smoothing skin out due to sugar, oat flakes, coffee grounds or salt is a good move in terms of proper hand care. Peel will facilitate nourishing substances, which creams and masks contain, penetrating hand skin. In order to provide your hands with moisturisation, it’s a good idea to include one of the following substances: honey, yoghurt and olive oil.

When it comes to egg, honey and butter hand mask, it delivers suppleness to skin and supplies it with essential substances.
