A face mask is a way to immediately improve the condition of the skin. A good mask is like a soothing, regenerating and nourishing compress. It can work wonders and is a perfect complement to your daily skincare routine.
Why is a face mask so important?
Women who use face masks on regular basis, know what a good face mask is and that it’s an invaluable source of nourishment for the skin. Thanks to it, face creams work better, and in addition, a good mask can “take away” fatigue, grayness, and flaccidity of the complexion, and alleviate the harmful effects of external factors that contribute to the destruction and aging of the skin, eg sun, frost, smoking cigarettes, dry air emitted by air conditioning or radiators.
The good news is that you do not have to go to the store looking for a good face mask. You are able to successfully prepare the best ones in the corner of your own home, from generally available ingredients. They are firstly: economical, and secondly: effective.
How do the face masks work?
- they improve skin tone;
- they firm the skin;
- exfoliate and detoxify;
- they nourish the cells and stimulate circulation in the blood vessels;
- lighten the skin, absorbing excess melatonin;
- regenerate tired, mature skin (activate the layers of the epidermis, which are responsible for renewal);
- brighten the skin.
Before you do you face mask
The face mask will bring the best results if you cleanse your skin thoroughly beforehand. Thanks to this, it will have better absorption and will absorb more active ingredients from the mask. Enzyme peeling, gommage or just a deep-cleansing mask is the first step in skin care.
Best homemade face masks DIY
1. A white face mask made of aspirin for discolorations and blackheads
Aspirin contains acetylsalicylic acid, which slightly dries and cleanses the skin. It helps to get rid of blackheads, pimples and gently brightens and whitens the skin. The white mask of aspirin is compared to a mild acid treatment in a beauty salon. It works best on a combination and oily skin. What is more, it helps to get rid of surface impurities from the epidermis and gently dries acne lesions, as well as heals post-acne scars.
White mask of aspirin – ingredients
- 4 – 7 aspirin pills,
- a teaspoon of water,
- a teaspoon of natural yogurt (preferably organic).
Pour a little water over the tablet so that they become soft and can be easily crushed. Add the yogurt to the tablets and mix everything to create a mush. Apply the paste to your face and leave it on for fifteen minutes. Wash the mask with lukewarm water and gently wipe your face with toner.
2. A black face mask with activated charcoal – flawless complexion
Activated charcoal is a wonderful detox for the skin. Its molecules capture toxins, germs, and bacteria as well as free radicals and combine with their particles to “move” them out of the body. The mask cleanses, smoothes and refreshes the complexion, helps to get rid of blackheads, lightens the skin, accelerates wound healing and skin changes, acts antibacterial, narrows the pores.

Another great addition to the base version of the mask is natural, organic honey. Then, in addition to detox, the skin will gain nutritious ingredients derived from honey.
